There’s a part of me that loves a good plan. I’m practical, I like structure, and I find comfort in knowing where things are headed. But over the years, I’ve learned that the best moments often come when I least expect them. Life has a way of shifting things, throwing in a little surprise, and reminding me that not everything needs to be controlled.
While having a plan is important, I’ve found that it’s equally important to leave room for flexibility. When we hold on too tightly to a vision of how things should go, we miss out on the flow of life. It’s like trying to hold water in your hands—it slips through your fingers when you grip too tightly. But when you loosen up and allow life to unfold in unexpected ways, you create space for new opportunities, new people, and new experiences that you never could have planned for.
Sometimes, the best things come when we stop trying to control them. The magic happens in the unplanned moments. The beauty is in the surprises.
What if today, you allowed yourself to let go of the plan? What might happen if you let life lead you, instead of trying to lead it?
Reflective journal prompt: Where in your life could you soften your grip and allow more flow? How might letting go of control open up new possibilities for you?
